Bavarian Life in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

TIPS for TRAVELERS to GARMISCHA short drive from the center of Garmisch, the "Partnachklamm" hiking trail takes you through a glacier carved ravine. Depending in the season, you'll be met with either cascading waterfalls or the 'Ice Curtain,' which is a wall of icicles dangling down the side of a sheer rock wall. There are also some ice caves to explore here during the winter months.For the panoramic view across the border, take the Zugspitzbahn from the center of Garmisch, then ride the cable car to the top where you have several options, a day hikes, skiing, or lunch on the sun terrace.
