The Four Seasons of the Sierra Nevada, California
Winter in the Sierras offers some of the best and most extensive skiing in the United States, with some resorts staying open until July! Summer brings a vast array of sports and activities. We'll kayak along Tahoe's pristine East Shore, famous for crystal clear water and gigantic granite boulders, perfect for swimming and diving. We'll visit Squaw Valley, site of the 1960 Olympics, to rocket down the slopes on mountain bikes, hike through scenic meadows and discover the incredible mountaintop facilities. The historic silver mining town of Virginia City is the scene of an outlandish annual event. Once the home of Mark Twain, this Wild West town comes alive each year for the Camel and Ostrich races.
